Know how Googlebot Fetches your Web Page and Malware details
Ever thought of how Google’s Web spider Mr. Googlebot fetches your web pages. It was an unknown fact in the past to many people. But now, you can very well see how Google sees your pages using the new Labs at Google Webmaster Central.
You know very well about the features present in the Google Webmaster Tools Dashboard. Two new features are added to the list named “Labs”.
Labs:
- Fetch as Googlebot.
- Malware details.
Using the first one is to know how the Googlebot sees your pages. Just simply type in the URL you want to see or leave blank otherwise if you want your home page to be seen.

There it is mentioned that,
Webmaster Tools Labs is a testing ground for experimental features that aren’t quite ready for prime time. They may change, break or disappear at any time.
Googlebot doesnot actually didn’t visit the page I specified. I tracked using the live traffic feeds. It just showed the page source of the URL requested.
And coming to the Malware details feature, it gives a relief for many web masters who worry a lot if Google marks their site as ” This site may harm your computer ” in the Google Search results pages. Using the ” Malware details ” feature, you can now know which page is the actual culprit of the cause and the suspected injected code.
