In my last post, I gave the comparison between the Aircel and Airtel mobile Pocket Internet @ 98 packs. In this post I am presenting you a simple tutorial of how to connect Aircel/Airtel mobile GPRS to your desktop or laptop.
The connection settings that I am showing here are for Sony Ericsson W580i or W810i. Similar settings apply for all the Sony Ericsson mobile pieces.

1. First  of all open the Sony Ericsson PC suite.

2. Click on the Mobile Networking wizard. This opens a pop up window that contains Networking wizard setup.

3.a) Click on the  ‘New Connection’ button

3.b) Again a pop up window opens. There select the option ‘Packet Switched Data-A packet switched data connection (GPRS/3G)’ and go to Next page.

4. Select the modem present in your mobile that you need to use for setting up internet connection.

5. Give a connection name(I gave the connection name as “Aircel Internet” and click Next.

6. Click on ‘Use settings from an existing entry in the mobile phone’ and go to next.

7. Select ‘aircelgprs’ from the options shown below.

8. The next step is optional. If you want to set a login credentials, give a user name and password.

9. You will see something like this.

Connection name: Aircel Internet

A desktop shortcut will not be created

Modem: Sony Ericsson Device 125 USB WMC Data Modem
User name:
Password:

This is a 3G/GPRS packet switched data connection:
Access Point Name (APN): aircelgprs

10. Finally click finish.

11. Now in the available networks, select the named “Aircel Internet”(this is the connection name that I gave instep 5) and click “Connect” to browse the internet.
