Bitter Experience on BSNL Broadband Customer care Service
It has been exactly six days for my ISP to check the broadband problem. The experience that i faced with the BSNL Broadband customer care service is very much horrible. Every day I used to call twice or thrice describing the problem.
The first time I reported about the connection problem at the toll free number 1500. I don’t know how they tackle the customers problems. But this is how my experience goes.
At first they booked a complaint regarding my problem. The next day when I called 1500 they told that the complaint ID given to me earlier has been closed. I wondered how they closed the complaint without solving the problem and without contacting me. And again they booked a new complaint.
They called me the very next day. And this time they told me “Your telephone is working properly”. Oh my god they had understood that my land-line is not working instead of my broadband !!. Yet another complaint ID. This time they assured me that the broadband connection will checked within a day and advised me to complain at 198. I made a call to 198. The automated voice system just asked me to give the telephone number that is not working and I gave my land-line number. Immediately after 10 minutes I got a call from the customer care and said “Your telephone is working properly”. This is a service that takes complaints for non-working telephones and check whether the given number is working perfectly or not. And again there is a little quarrel between me and the customer care person for giving irrelevant numbers for complaining the problem.
I waited for two days[on the whole 4 days]. There is no word from that side. So finally I decided to go to the local BSNL Office.
There they gave me two numbers for complaining. I made a call to one of the number and there she gave me another number. Yet another number when called to that number. And this is the final number through which I solved my problem. This person took two days to come to my home and one day to change the port at the server[as he said].
With a lot of frustration and impatience I finally got my working internet connection !!!!
It was a simple issue and I dont know it’s cause. Why do they take a lot of time when it comes for attending to the customers. I think Sify is best both for providing broadband and delivering the customer service when I was in Tamil Nadu. And in my life Airtel and BSNL broadband services left me bitter experiences.

Its really sad to experience such problem and I can understand how much frustration you might have experienced at that time as I’ve experienced a lot from BSNL when I was in Chennai.
Thank God for they’ve given solution and completing the service within days rather than taking weeks.

When I read the above bitter experience of one of bsnl broadband customer, I was surprised, as if I have written my experience. Exactly same thing happen to me a fortnight back, and finally I had to go for the complaints upto GM level. I suffered for about 10 days. Since BB connection in April, 2009, I was facing another problem- i.e. disconnection of broadband for any incoming or outgoint landline telephone ring. I thought it as normal and avoided outgoing calls during surfing. Thanks God, it was also rectified amidst the recent breakdown.
