Tracing the mobile number and tracking the stolen cell phones is an easy process these days. A simple general knowledge or common sense of  mobile numbers you see daily can help us to find out to which operator the given mobile number belongs to.  An example is BSNL numbers generally starts with 94-xx-yyyyyy while 93-xx-yyyyyy is for Reliance where xx stands for different states and yyyyyy for different numbers. Tracking the stolen mobiles phones is also easy.

We have Airtel, BSNL, Vodafone, Tata Indicom, Tata Docomo, Reliance GSM, Idea and other operators in the country. But where can we find a way to trace the mobile numbers? A simple way is to reverse look up method at Wikipedia. Another way is to look up at trace.bharatiyamobile.com .

Trace.bharatiyamobile.com provides a way to find out the operator name and the signaling of the 10 digit mobile numbers. For that region, it also lists the radio frequencies present in that location.

After much debate, mobile number portability will be introduced in India in December 2009. So it may cause a little bit difficult in tracing the mobile numbers !!
