Nokia Announced Bicycle Powered Mobile Charger Price
Today Nokia had announced a simple yet powerful mobile charger. A charger that helps you in charging your mobile handset while you are on a bike/bicycle.
This is not a very strange or completely new technology. In 1970′s or somewhere around you might have heard of bicycles having self powered lights (like head lights for a bike). In course of time new cycles are released in the market without these lights.
Now Nokia had used similar technology. This is a good sign for mobile charging in the developing countries. For the mobile to get charged one should ride at a minimum speed of about 6 KMPH. This is not a critical speed. The charging comes for 10 mins with 10 KMPH and it varies with the speed and the battery model
The price is around $18. And it works on dynamo- a small electrical generator that produces power by converting the peddling energy. Talking on cell phone while driving is offensive but charging it on a go is not a problem.
