Well Google Adsense provides its publishers the option to hold their monthly payments. As far as I am considered, there are two main reasons one should use this facility.

The first one is when the dollar exchange rate is very less. I would explain it in simpler terms. suppose that the dollar value last month was Rs.49 and let you had earned $100. Then you would get Google Adsense check of Rs 4900 (49 x 100 = 4900).

Now consider that this month you have earned $150. But the dollar conversion rate dropped to Rs.44. Then you will get a check of amount Rs.6600 (44 x 150 = 6600). That means you would get Rs. 750 less if the dollar exchange rate is Rs 49( 49 x 150 – 44 x 150 = Rs.750).

The above mentioned amount is small as the earning is small. If you earn more than $ 1000 then there will be substantial difference that would surely let to keep your monthly payments on hold.

Second thing is as you know it would take 30 days to issue check for your monthly earnings. And depending on the bank where you deposit the check, it will take some 2 to 13 days for cashing that check to your account. So altogether you have to wait 30 to 43 days. Waiting this much of time is negligible if you have huge earnings. But think about those publishers with less earnings. They will be dreaming to see Google Adsense check of huge amount. For those publishers also this Payment holding is another solution.

The above said two points do not apply mandatory for all the publishers. Nevertheless it is the publisher ‘s decision on that finally forces him to choose this Payment Holding option. What do you say ???
